AI & privacy

# Powered by Claude. Built for privacy.

Docsi AI runs in the background on Anthropic’s Claude models. Here is exactly what happens when you hand Docsi a task – and what never leaves your computer.

**01** **You give a task** A file, a window or a question – and what you need.

**02** **Docsi picks the content** Only the passages the task really needs, read locally.

**03** **Claude does the thinking** Encrypted through Docsi’s server to Anthropic’s Claude models.

**04** **Your file, on your computer** Docsi designs and saves the result locally – with sources.

## What stays on your computer

Converting files, merging PDFs, text recognition for scans and photos, and creating PDF, Word and Excel files all run locally on your device – without the internet and without credits.

## What goes to the AI

Only when you start an AI task, the content the task needs – for example the relevant text from your files and your instruction – travels encrypted through Docsi’s server to Anthropic’s Claude models. The answer comes back to Docsi, which turns it into your finished file.

- We do not store the content of your AI tasks – only how many credits were used.
- Under Anthropic’s [commercial terms](https://www.anthropic.com/legal/commercial-terms), content sent through the API is not used to train Anthropic’s models.
- Processing by Anthropic may take place outside the EU, for example in the USA.
- There is no account: Docsi uses a license key instead of a login.

## Why Claude

Claude models are strong at reading long documents carefully, following precise instructions and writing clear, well-structured text. That is exactly what Docsi needs for study sheets, reports and analyses – with statements tied to the pages they came from.

## Sources you can check

When Docsi takes a statement from your material, it adds a reference to the page. You can always look up where something came from.

## Your own AI, if you prefer

In the settings you can connect an AI of your own instead – with your own key, or completely locally through Ollama.
